Joy is a Yoga Alliance registered teacher, IAYT certified yoga therapist and Board Certified Ayurvedic Health Counselor. She has been practicing Reiki for over 20 years and is a Reiki master.

Joy is an Ayurvedic Yoga Therapist and Yoga philosophy teacher who offers personalized healing programs for individual clients and community education. She utilizes the tools of Ayurveda and Yoga to treat the whole person, body, mind, emotions and spirit.

Having spent over 15 years working in the corporate world, Joy knows the stress of a demanding, high-pressure job. Seeing how this unbalanced lifestyle leads to illness and injury, she made it a priority to seek out healthy ways to bring back balance to her life.

Joy was raised in the Pacific Northwest and moved to Southern California to attend UCLA where she received a degree in Anthropology. During her time in California, she also studied Yoga, Ayurveda and Martial Arts. That journey of study and self discovery lasted 18 years and she later moved back to the Pacific Northwest to share what she had learned.

Joy trained at a formal Yoga Therapy School and is certified through IAYT. She went on to study Ayurveda and has received her Ayurveda Health Counselor certification and is approved by NAMA. She has also completed in-depth study of the Yoga Sutras and a Wellness Coaching Course which she integrates into her private sessions as well as her community teachings.

Joy’s personal experience with chronic pain and health issues led her to a path of alternative healing and the profound results gave her the desire to help others achieve their optimal health and well-being. Realizing the effects that stress has in the modern western world and the feeling of having no control over one’s own health, she makes it her mission to empower her students to take back that control and get in touch with their inner wisdom. Utilizing Ayurveda, she guides students and clients with daily practices, self-care routines and diet recommendations.  Joy teaches students how to get back into the natural flow of living within nature’s rhythm. She teaches the fundamental aspects of Ayurveda to help students make informed decisions on a day to day basis.

Through Yoga philosophy teachings, Joy’s goal is to help students achieve awareness and mental clarity to create a Sattvic mind, which is a mind that is stable, focused, alert, clear, reflective and goal-oriented. The teachings of the Yoga Sutras allows students to improve their relationships, have better control over their life choices and embrace the future they desire. Through these teachings, students find amazing shifts in their daily lives and their overall outlook on life.

Joy’s positive outlook, sense of humor and relatability help to make clients feel welcome and comfortable.
